Hello! My name is Patricia Horvath but my friends call me Pat!
I am a NASM Certified Personal Trainer, NASM Senior Fitness Specialist, and a RYT 500 (Yoga Teacher). But don't let those letters fool you! I have not always been so keen on exercise and my path to feeling confident in my body was in no way linear.
I first became a teacher as an artist. I led group paintings and found what I truly enjoyed was sharing my skills with others in an approachable and fun way. like many other, I turned to group fitness as a way to become healthy. I always ended up in the yoga class. Time and time again I left class feeling like I wasn't "good at yoga" and it took a while for me to find a yoga studio where I felt like I fit in. When I did I knew I would want to share this feeling of embodiment and belonging with others. And that's how I found my true passion! Not through some talent that came naturally and easily to me. My excitement to teach and share my practice came from having to work through my hang-ups and my perceived stiffness. What I found was strength, resilience, and a thirst for knowledge. I learned so much about myself and what I am capable of. Our stories are forever changing. Whatever your age, abilities and energetic disposition this practice can serve as a foundation and introduction to your greatest self.
When you practice Yoga with Pat you'll find the practice becomes integrated and woven into more than just your workout time. I share guided meditations, Yin Yoga, Chair-based yoga, as well as more vigorous practices within the container of Vinyasa and Hatha yoga. You can also look forward to guided painting classes as vehicles for the more subtle aspects of yoga, like energy theory and philosophy. Yoga with Pat is mindful movement for all.
